Kintsugi Sushi Bar takes the protection of your personal information very seriously. This policy describes, in plain language, what information we collect, what we use it for, who has access to it, and what your rights are — in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

2. Personal Information Collected
We only collect information strictly necessary for the purposes described below:
- Reservation form: full name, phone, email, date and party size, free message (allergies, occasion).
- Newsletter: email address only.
- Browsing data: none. This site currently uses no analytics tools, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies.
3. Purposes of Collection
- Confirm and prepare your reservation (allergies, birthdays, etc.).
- Contact you in case of changes or unforeseen events.
- Send you our newsletter — only with your explicit consent.
Your information is never used for any other purpose, nor sold to third parties.
4. Legal Basis
Processing is based on your free, informed and specific consent, explicitly collected when you fill in our forms (dedicated checkbox).
5. Retention Period
- Reservations: 12 months after your last visit, then permanent deletion.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe (link present in every email).
6. Recipients
Your information is accessible only to:
- Kintsugi staff authorized to handle reservations.
- Our hosting provider Hostinger (servers located in Canada).
- Competent authorities, only on legal request.
No transfer outside Canada is performed.
7. Your Rights
As a data subject, you have the following rights at any time:
- Right of access: obtain a copy of the information concerning you.
- Right to rectification: correct inaccurate information.
- Right to withdraw consent: at any time, without justification.
- Right to erasure (de-indexing): request permanent deletion.
- Right to portability: receive your data in a structured format.
- Right to file a complaint: with the Quebec Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI).
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@kintsugi-sushi.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
This site uses one technical cookie (cookie-consent) to remember your choice on the consent banner. No advertising, analytics or profiling cookies are stored.
9. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures: HTTPS encryption (TLS 1.3), restricted access for authorized staff, encrypted backups. In the event of a privacy incident with serious risk of harm, we would notify the CAI and the affected individuals as soon as possible, as required by Law 25.
10. Changes
This policy may be updated. The date at the top of this page indicates the last revision. In case of substantial change, you will be notified by email if you are subscribed to our newsletter.
